Student Acceptable Use Policy Simplified

Reading policy can sometimes be a bit confusing and overwhelming. Below is a simplified form of the policy that highlights the main points.

The district provides computers and Internet access for educational uses only.

The NPS network does use an Internet filter as required by law.

Students may NOT use district technology or Internet to do the following:
  • violate the law or encourage others to violate the law
  • plagiarize
  • damage property
  • harrass or threaten
  • "hack"
  • violate copyright
  • defame
  • inpersonate others
  • use another's password
  • spread a virus
  • sell or buy anything
  • view, download, or transmit pornography
  • campaign/lobby

Students should:
  • use for educational purposes
  • report any inappropriate material/websites they find to a teacher/administrator
  • follow Internet safety rules: do not give out personal information, never arrange to meet with someone they met on the Internet, etc.
